Chief Executive Officer & Founder

With over 25 years of experience in the senior housing industry, Lisa Brush created Symphony Senior Living, a Canadian based company in 2008. Over her career, she has been directly involved with ground-up development and has managed many large portfolios in both the private and public sectors. Moreover, Lisa is a passionate businesswoman who defines success with a strong track record of unparalleled leadership. Ms. Brush has built her industry expertise by succeeding in the following positions: Chief Executive Officer for The Steeves and Rozema Group of Companies (S&R), Vice President of Operations for Sunrise Senior Living Inc, EVP and Chief Operating Officer of Sunrise REIT and SVP of Senior Housing Operations and Development for Ventas Inc (NYSE: VTR).

There are two things in this world Lisa cannot live without, her kids and her dog….maybe three the Ocean. Lisa is also a mother to Louis Brush, our Chief Canine Officer and loves to travel with him wherever she goes. Lisa is an avid scuba diver and PADI Instructor, that loves the ocean for its peace and tranquility….keeping us in this Moment!

Nick Hogan

Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer, Nick is responsible for corporate finance, including accounting, budgeting, and audit. In addition to finance, Nick oversees the IT function and risk mitigation strategies. Nick is a passionate leader focused on serving the needs of the customer, his team members and company partners.

Nick joins Symphony Senior Living Inc having experience in a diverse set of industries with a focus on driving a great customer experience. Prior to joining the company, he held controllership positions at Modern Niagara and Thales where he was responsible for the finance function. Before becoming a professional accountant Nick spent a decade as an entrepreneur focused on driving quality products and a great customer experience.

Nick graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours), Specializing in Accounting. In his free time he enjoys cycling, skiing, and spending time with his wife, two young boys and their dog.

Christine Turner

Vice President Operations

Christine graduated from St. Lawerence College in Kingston in '96 with her RPN certification. She started her career working as a Director of Care in a few different places in the Ottawa area and quickly advanced to executive director within only a few years. She has now spent the last 25 years in the retirement industry- devoting her life to seniors. 

Christine has been with Symphony for about seven years- first as an executive director for one of our previous communities in 2013 and then moving to our Kanata community in 2019.

She was promoted to Vice President of Operations in March 2022 and strongly believes in Symphony's philosophy and core values. Christine's motto is to stay positive, be happy, and live in the moment. When Christine isn't at work, you will find her walking her two black labs, Maple and Jack. She also enjoys heading to the rink with her husband Bruce to watch her two teenage sons, Ben and Kyle, play hockey.

Susan Jolin

Regional Business Manager

Susan had been working as the Business Office Coordinator at Symphony Senior Living Kanata. She has recently joined the Ottawa Regional team as the Business Office Manager. She has been working with Symphony Senior Living since 2013. Before she started with Symphony, she had spent the past ten years living aboard in the USA, the UK and Belgium. She has extensive experience working in the Federal Government as Finance and Administrative Coordinator.

Susan is a very caring and compassionate member of the Symphony team and has a home with her husband, Norm and their two cats. In the summer months, you will find Susan in her garden.

Jocelynne Brush

Jocelynne Brush

Regional Director of Sales and Marketing

Jocelynne is a graduate from The University of Guelph-Humber in Toronto, with a Honours Bachelor’s degree and a diploma majoring in media and public relations. She has been with Symphony since 2018- first as a community relations coordinator working sales at the property level to now managing Symphony’s sales team and strategizing on marketing initiatives for the company. Specializing in digital marketing and advertising, Jocelynne works closely with the Vice President of Operations to drive occupancy. Jocelynne also has a passion for videography and photography and often creates content for Symphony. In her downtime, she enjoys cuddling with her cat, Oliver, and is always planning her next trip as she loves to travel!

In Loving Memory of Louis Brush

Former Chief Canine Officer, 2009-2021.

Louis Brush became a part of the Symphony team from the moment he was adopted. He toured all of the Symphony properties multiple times, each property he goes to he greets our residents with love and affection. Residents and staff loved when Louis comes to stay at the properties as he always brings his best attitude to work every day. He also was a world-wide traveler who visited many places in the United States, Canada, and even Europe!

Sadly, Louis passed away March 4/21 after battling with an aggressive form of Lymphoma. He spent his last days eating steak and cheese, some of his favourites, and being surrounded by love. Louis will be missed for years to come by so many Symphony team members, residents, family members, industry professionals, and friends. For such a small dog, the impact he made on everyone he met was larger than life. Louis’s pack members and siblings, Jocelynne and Daniel Brush, along with his mom, Lisa Brush, will also miss him dearly.

Symphony will never forget the joy and delight Louis gave all of us every time he came to visit.
